Organizers can download the list of people registered for a competition as a spreadsheet file, straight from the competition studio.
How to download it
- Open your competition in the competition studio and go to its Settings page.
- In the Participants section, find Export the participant list and press Download CSV.
- The button reads Preparing... while the file is made, then the file downloads. It is named after the competition, ending in
_participants.csv.
What is in the file
Three columns: name, email and category (the registration category the person registered under; shown as Unspecified when none was recorded). Names fall back to the username when a member has no name set.
One row per registration, not per person
Someone who holds two entries appears twice. UNI does not remove the duplicates, because which entry to keep is the organizer's decision.
Who can download it
Only members of the organizing organization, and UNI staff. Anyone else who tries gets a "not found" error, the same as for a competition that does not exist. The file contains entrants' email addresses, so handle it as you would any contact list.
If a name looks odd in your spreadsheet
Values that start with a character a spreadsheet could treat as a formula (such as =, +, - or @) are saved with a leading apostrophe. Excel, Sheets and LibreOffice hide it when displaying the cell. A name that appears with a leading apostrophe in a plain-text editor is therefore expected.
