Associated Disciplines sits in the sidebar of a project page and lists the disciplines the project was filed under, with a count.
It is a membership feature
The card only appears if you have an active membership. Signed-out visitors and members whose plan has lapsed do not see it at all, on any project. Nothing is wrong with the project, and the author has not hidden anything: the card is simply not rendered.
That is why it can appear on a project for one person and not for someone else looking at the same page.
The other reason it can be missing
The card is also skipped when the project has no disciplines on it. A project can be published without any, and in that case there is nothing to list.
So the card shows when both are true:
- you have an active membership, and
- the project has at least one discipline.
What the disciplines are for
They are how a project is found. Discipline is the main filter on the Projects feeds and in search, so a project with none is much harder to come across. If a project of yours is missing them, add them from the project editor and they will apply to browse and search straight away.
