276People's Choice AwardPlace of PeoplePlace of People is a dynamic public space designed in the heart of Aleppo that seeks to acts as a catalyst in the personal healing and community strengthening process. The design instils a feeling of strength in the people that takes birth from their weaknesses and fears to alleviate their spirit and morale.
1CO-THEKEThe space is divided into 3 parts corresponding to human life. HEAD is the biggest building -the library. THE HEART is a space for the residents of the district, where they will be able to develop their creativity and get to know each other. THE BODY is a building where everyone can exercise with a view of the greenery from the Sielecki Canal.
5Immediate post-disaster architectural responseProject is directed for places affected by natural disasters and war damages, in which infrastructure destruction has occured that prevents normal functioning without a far-reaching reconstruction process. Its task is to replace parts of the destroyed infrastructure and allow the local community to return to everyday life as quickly as possible.
1WinnerNIAThe 600 square meter learning space, NIA SCHOOL, is created to unlock the creative potential of children between two and eight years old with the use of design, materiality and light.
