uni.xyz does not cap the size of a project team, so there is no platform-wide maximum. An individual competition can set its own limit in its rules, and that is the number that applies to that entry.
Check the competition's own rules
Some competitions state a team size limit in their Rules and Guidelines, and the number varies from one competition to the next. Open the competition's info page and read its Rules section before you register. If nothing there mentions team size, that competition has not set one.
Nothing on the platform blocks a larger team from being added or an entry from being submitted, so treating the competition's stated rule as binding is on you, not on the system.
One registration, one team
The account that registers holds the competition entry: the entry card, the payment and the registration record all sit under that one account. Adding people to the project team does not create a second registration, and your teammates do not need to pay or register separately.
Once someone has accepted their place on the project team, they can open the entry's dashboard as well, so the whole team can see how the entry is doing. People who have been invited but have not accepted yet do not get that access.
How to add team members
- Open the project in the builder and go to Team in the left menu, headed Team Management.
- Select Add Member.
- In the Add Team Member dialog, search by username or email, then pick their position and roles.
- Select Add to Team for someone who already has a UNI account, or Send Invitation to invite them by email.
This is the same team you would use on any project. Members added here are credited on the project itself.
Team names on the certificate
A certificate carries a single participant name. When one is first generated it is filled with the names of everyone on the project team, joined together, and long lists are shortened to fit the printed certificate. You can correct that name afterwards from the entry's Analytics page using Update Certificate, so a large team can put the names it wants on the certificate rather than accepting the default. See how to download your certificate for the full route.
Outside competitions
There is no limit at all. A project on your profile can carry as many collaborators as the work actually involved.
