Registering for a competition creates an empty entry. Submitting means connecting your finished work to that entry. Until you do, the entry is a draft and will not be reviewed.
What you attach
Each competition accepts one type of work: a project, a journal or a publication. The competition decides which, you do not choose it, and your entry card shows the type it expects. Most competitions take a project, which is what this guide follows.
Step 1: publish the work first
Only published projects appear in the submission picker, so publish before you try to submit.
- Go to
uni.xyz/profile/edit/{your-username}/projects. - The list has Published and Drafts filters with counts next to them.
- If your project is under Drafts, open it and publish it.

Step 2: open My Competitions
Open My Competitions from the account menu in the navbar. It takes you to uni.xyz/profile/edit/{your-username}/competitions.
Each competition you registered for has a card. A card with nothing connected is a registration you have not submitted against yet. A card showing a connected project, journal or publication is a completed submission.
Step 3: connect your work
- Find the card for the competition you are entering. Check the competition name carefully if you registered for more than one.
- Click Submit on that card.

4. Confirm with the Connect button in the dialog.
Once connected, the Submit button on the card is replaced by Detach work.
Step 4: check the card
The card shows the review status of your entry and the next deadline. You also get email at the points that matter: a confirmation when you register, and updates as the competition moves through review and results.
You can keep editing the connected project up to the submission deadline. Each time you publish, the jury's copy is updated to match, so the work that gets judged is whatever you had published when submissions closed.
Changing your mind
- Detach work takes your work back off the entry. It is available while submissions are still open, and stops being available once the entry has moved on in judging.
- Archive appears on an entry you never submitted against, after the competition's submission deadline has passed. It tidies the card away. It is a button you press, entries are not archived for you.
- Restore brings an archived entry back onto the list.

Editing after the deadline
The jury evaluates the version of your project that was published when the submission deadline passed. Up to that moment every publish updates what they will see. After it, editing and re-publishing still updates your public project page, but the judged version stays as it was, so make your final changes before the deadline.
