How to Invite Team Members to Your Project on UNI?

A step-by-step guide to seamlessly adding collaborators to your project on UNI, enhancing the collaborative effort with clear roles and permissions.

Add collaborators and organizations from the Team page of your project. Everyone on the team is shown publicly on the project once it is published, so add the people who actually worked on it.

  1. Open your project and go to Team.
  2. Click Add Member on the team card.
  3. Search by username or email.
  4. Give them up to three roles if you want to. Roles are optional.
  5. Pick a project permission level.
  6. Click Add to Team.

If the search finds nobody and you have typed a valid email address, the dialog switches to an email invite. Add a first and last name if you know them, then click Send Invitation.

What happens after you invite someone

Everyone you invite gets an email with a link to accept.

If that email address already belongs to a uni account, they also get a notification inside their account.

Until they accept, they appear on the team card as Invitation Pending. Someone who has not accepted yet cannot open the project or reach the competition entry dashboard for it.

Invitations expire three days after they are sent. Use the three-dot menu next to a pending invitee for Resend Invitation or Cancel Invitation. Resend only works once the invitation has expired; before that you will be told the request has not expired yet. If someone cannot find their invite in the meantime, cancel it and add them again.

Roles and permissions are different things

Roles describe what a person did on the project: Architect, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Project Manager, Mentor and so on. Pick up to three per person. If the role you need is not in the list, click Add new position and create it. Roles are shown publicly on the project.

Project permission controls what a person can change. There are four levels:

Open Permissions in the sidebar to see exactly which permissions each level carries on this project, and to change them.

You can edit someone's roles later, or remove them, from the three-dot menu next to their name. There is no limit on how many people a project team can hold.

Add an organization

If the work was done at or with a studio, school or practice, add it as an organization alongside the individual collaborators.

  1. On the Team page, click Add Organization.
  2. Search for the organization by name.
  3. Pick it from the results if it is already on uni.

If it is not on uni yet, create it from the same search box. Create New Organization asks for a logo, name, website, location and tagline, and takes an optional description.
