Publish the publication or journal first, then connect it to your competition entry from the Competitions page on your profile. The steps are the same as for a project entry.
Before you start
Your work has to exist and be published before you can attach it. Drafts do not appear in the list.
- Publications are uploaded as a single PDF file. Books, magazines, papers, technical drawings and portfolios all go in this way. Create one at Publications.
- Journals are written in the journal editor on UNI. Create one at Journals.
You also need to have registered for the competition, which creates the entry you are about to fill.
Connect your work to the entry
- Open the Competitions page on your profile. The Submit Entry button on the competition page takes you straight there.
2. Find the entry for that competition and click Submit.
3. A window opens titled Select Publication to Submit or Select Journal to Submit, listing your published work. Search it if the list is long.
4. Click the one you want. A tick appears on it.
5. Click Connect Publication or Connect Journal.
That completes the submission. There is no separate confirmation step.
Which type each competition takes
Each competition accepts one kind of entry and decides which. Portfolio and thesis awards such as UPA and UnIADA take publications; most other competitions take projects; a smaller set takes journals.
The window on your entry only lists the type that competition accepts, so you cannot attach the wrong kind of work. If you were expecting a publication picker and got a project picker, that competition takes projects.
Changing what you submitted
Until the submission deadline passes, click Detach work on the entry to disconnect it, then attach something else. Once the deadline passes, both buttons are removed from the entry.
