There is no CSV upload and no spreadsheet import for members on UNI. The invite form is a list you build inside the page, it takes up to 50 people per submission, and it sends one invitation per person. A cohort larger than 50 goes out in more than one batch, and there is no limit on how many batches you send.
Where the form is
Go to Manage, then your organization, then Members, and select + Invite. Owners, Admins and Curators see that button. Plain Members do not.
Set the role first, then build the list
The role attaches to a person at the moment you add them, so change the dropdown before you pick the next person if their role is different.
- Choose a role: Administrator, Curator or Member.
- Search by username, or type a full email address if the person has no UNI account. The address is accepted as typed.
- Each person you pick becomes a chip in the form. Remove any of them with the small cross.
- Repeat up to 50. At 50 the form stops accepting new people and shows "Maximum 50 invites at a time".
- Select Invite N Members.
You are told which ones failed
Every person on the list is sent as a separate invitation, so they succeed or fail one at a time and nothing is rolled back. When the batch finishes you get one of three results:
- All sent, reported as the number of invitations sent successfully.
- A partial result, reported as "X sent, Y failed" followed by the reason or address for each failure.
- A complete failure, listing every address that did not go out.
The most common failure is "This user is already a member of this organization."
Duplicates and repeat invitations
- The same person added twice to the same list is quietly ignored the second time.
- A new invitation to an email that already has one pending replaces the old one. The old invitation stops working.
- Someone you removed from the organization earlier can be invited again.
Pending invitations are listed, and you can revoke them
The Members page shows outstanding invitations in their own section, each with a Revoke control. Revoking is immediate and the link stops working.
Invitations expire after 14 days
The expiry is 14 days from when the invitation was sent, and it is checked when the person tries to accept. After that the link reports the invitation as expired and you need to send a new one.
What the person receives
An email from you, with your name on it, naming the organization and the role, and carrying an accept link. If they already have a UNI account they also get a notification inside UNI, and the invitation appears on their invitations page at uni.xyz/organizations/invites. If they do not have an account, they create one while accepting.
Classrooms are a separate step
An invitation sent from the Members page is not attached to a classroom. Put students into classrooms once they show up as members, or while their invitation is still pending. Adding students to a classroom covers who is eligible.
