Synchronizing Your Academic Calendar with UNI's Competition Schedule

Discover how to align your institution's studio calendar with UNI's diverse competition lineup, ensuring seamless participation and maximum educational benefit.

Pick competitions whose published schedule already fits your term. UNI carries a large library of briefs with staggered deadlines, so there is usually one that lands where you need it.

Start from the competition library

Hundreds of competitions have run on UNI and dozens are open for registration at any given time. Browse Competitions and narrow down to the briefs that suit your studio.

Read the schedule before you commit

Every competition page has a Schedule section listing the registration and submission deadlines. Deadlines are shown in UTC, so convert them to your own time zone before you build them into a syllabus.

Then work backwards from the submission deadline and leave room for two things that catch studios out:

  1. A project has to be published before it can be attached to a competition entry. A draft cannot be submitted.
  2. The mentor needs time to review each project before submitting it.

If the dates do not fit

If a brief is right but its dates are not, ask UNI at least a month in advance. Whether the schedule can move depends on the other participants already registered, so treat it as a question rather than a given.
