You can find members by name or username from the search in the top navigation.
Search for someone
- Select the search icon in the top navigation bar.
- Type the person's name or username.
- Leave the category chips unselected. Each chip sends you into one section's own search, and none of them covers people.
- Press Enter, or select Search.
- On the results page, open the People tab.
You can also go straight to a search by opening uni.xyz/search?q= followed by the name you are looking for.
Matches come from names, usernames and the text on the profile, so part of a name is enough. The search box itself does not show a list of people as you type; you get the results page after you search. Members who have hidden their profile do not appear.
Find people through their work
Open any project, journal or publication and select the author's name to land on their profile. Competition entries and comment threads work the same way, so browsing a competition is a good way to find people working on the same brief.
Once you are on a profile
- Follow to keep up with what they publish.
- Message to open a conversation, if you are allowed to message them. See Direct messages.
Searching people to message
The Messages tab in the chat launcher has its own Search people to message box. It only offers people you are allowed to start a conversation with, so it is narrower than the site search on purpose.
