What happens after you submit an application on UNI

I submitted an application twice and only got one email. Did the second one go through?

If you submitted the same form twice within a minute, the second one was discarded on purpose and no second email was sent. The screen still said your application was submitted, because the duplicate is dropped quietly rather than reported. Your first submission is safely on file, and that is the one being read.

The rule is exact: a second submission from the same email address to the same form inside 60 seconds is discarded. Different forms are unaffected, so applying as an expert and then as a partner in the same minute sends both.

If you are resubmitting because you made a mistake, wait a minute and then send it again. Both copies will arrive, and it helps to say in the second one which is the corrected version.

Your confirmation email is the receipt

Every application sends you one email straight away with a copy of every answer you gave. If that email did not arrive, check the spam folder, then check the address you typed on the form: the confirmation goes to that address and nowhere else, even when you are signed in to an account under a different one.

The same email goes to the UNI team at the same moment, so a missing confirmation on your side does not mean the application is missing on ours.

You do not need an account to apply

None of the application forms require you to be signed in. Applying does not create an account, and it does not change anything on an account you already have. If what you applied for is something that has to sit on a UNI account, a juror seat is the usual case, register first and apply with the same address so the two can be matched.

What you can attach

Supporting files go up with the form:

  1. Most forms accept one file of up to 10MB.
  2. Host a Competition and List a Competition accept up to 25MB, and are the only two that also take a .zip.
  3. Accepted types elsewhere are PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG and PNG.

A file that is too large or of the wrong type is refused before the form sends, with the reason shown next to the upload box.

When to expect an answer

Each form shows a message on screen right after you submit, but as of 2026-08-30 that message doesn't always match the confirmation email anymore, so treat both as informal rather than a guarantee. Expert, partner, host and list applications still show "5 to 7 business days" on screen, but their confirmation email now says applications are reviewed in the order they arrive, with no fixed number of days. Institutional access no longer promises a turnaround time either on screen or in the email. A product listing still says 2 to 3 business days in both places.

Every reply is written by a person. There is no automatic approval email and no status page to watch, so nothing changes on your side until you hear from someone.

Following up

Reply directly to the confirmation email. It comes from a monitored address and your reply lands with the same team, attached to what you already sent. Sending the whole form again is the slower route, because it arrives as a fresh application with no link to the first.
