Your practice scores do not stay. Every score you save in the demo panel is marked as a practice score when it is written, and a cleanup job deletes it 30 days later. You do not have to withdraw anything or tidy up after yourself.
Nothing you do in there reaches a real competition in the meantime either. Practice scores never appear on a competition's leaderboard, never reach the author of the work, and never credit you as a juror.
The rule, exactly
- A cleanup job runs once a day, at 04:00 UTC. It deletes practice scores older than 30 days and leaves everything younger alone.
- The 30 days is counted from when the score was first saved, not from when you last changed it. Reopening an old practice score and moving the slider does not buy it more time.
- Only the score rows go. The practice competition, its sample entries and its criteria all stay where they are.
- The sample jurors' scores are excluded. The demo panel ships with scoring already in place from three fictional jurors, so the dashboard charts still have something to draw after yours are gone.
What you see once they have gone
The entries you practised on move back to Unevaluated and your progress bar drops to zero. That is the cleanup having run, not a fault, and not a sign that your account lost anything.
You can score them again straight away. The practice panel has no closing date, so it stays available on your Evaluations page for good.
This is only true of the practice panel
Say a juror worries about the wrong thing here, so it is worth being blunt: the 30 day rule applies to the demo panel and nowhere else. Scores you save on a real competition are never deleted on a schedule. They are kept whether or not you finished the entry, they survive the round closing, and they count towards the result. The jury deadline covers what happens to real scores when a round ends.
If practice scoring has vanished from a real competition's panel, that is not this job and it is worth reporting. Write to UNI support with the competition name.
