There is no upgrade path, and pressing Change/Upgrade Plan does not start one. The button is a link to the UNI Membership product in the shop. What happens after you buy depends on one thing only: whether you bought the same plan you already hold, or a different one. The same plan extends what you have. A different plan starts a second membership running alongside it, at full price.
Buying the same plan again adds its days to the end of the one you hold

If the plan you buy matches the plan you already have, and yours is still running, the new period starts on your current end date rather than today. Nothing is lost. Buy Annual again with 100 days left on your Annual and you hold 465 days.
You get a notification confirming the new end date once the payment clears.
Buying a different plan starts a second membership from today
If you buy a different plan, the one you hold is not replaced, converted or closed. A second membership is created, starting the day you buy it and running its own full length, while your original runs to its own end date. For a while you hold both.
While two memberships are live:
- Their included competition entries add up. An Annual (2 entries) alongside a Studio (5 entries) gives you 7.
- You get the benefits of both for as long as each one lasts, so the higher plan's benefits apply from the day you buy it.
- The days left on the first plan are not credited, prorated or refunded. You paid for them, and they run out on their own schedule.
So the price you pay is the full price of the new plan, never the difference between the two. If that is not what you wanted, do not buy yet.
One thing to know about the settings page afterwards: it shows a single membership, the one you bought first. Holding two is normal and the second one is not lost, it is just not what that card is displaying.
Nothing renews, and there is no cancel button
Every UNI membership is a one-time purchase for a fixed number of days. Nothing auto-renews and nothing is billed again, so there is no subscription to stop and letting a membership lapse costs you nothing and needs no action.
There is also no self-service cancellation or refund control anywhere in settings. If a purchase was a mistake, contact the UNI team rather than looking for a button. Refunds are decided case by case: see Refunds and cancellations.
Choosing what to do
- You want more of the plan you already like. Buy the same plan again, at any time. It stacks onto your end date and none of it goes to waste.
- You want a higher plan and yours has months left. Waiting until it is close to expiry wastes nothing. Buying now costs you the unused days.
- You want a higher plan and you need its entries now. Buy it and accept that the two run in parallel. Check the entry allowances first, because that is usually the reason for moving up.
Where to check what you hold
Settings, then Membership, at uni.xyz/accounts/settings/membership. It shows the plan name, days remaining and the end date. The button under it depends on what you hold, and the two do not go to the same place. Change/Upgrade Plan, shown while a membership is running, opens the membership product in the shop, which is where you buy. View Membership Plans, shown when you hold none, opens the plan comparison at uni.xyz/about/designers/membership in a new tab, which is a page to read rather than a place to buy.
