The topic is not empty and it is not broken. A topic page opens on its About tab, and About holds a written introduction that almost no topic has yet. When there is nothing written, the tab shows "No information available". The projects, journals, publications and competitions filed under that topic are all still there, one tab away.
This is as true of the largest topics as of the smallest. Architecture opens on exactly the same blank About as anything else, with thousands of journals and thousands of projects sitting behind it.
Where the work actually is
The sidebar on the left, under Topic Sections, is the list of tabs on a topic:
- About, the written introduction
- Discussions, activity on that topic's work
- Competitions
- Projects
- Journals
- Publications
Select any of them. You can also go straight to one by adding it to the address: uni.xyz/topic/architecture/journals opens the Journals tab without passing through About. On a narrow screen the sidebar sits behind the menu button rather than beside the page.
Discussions is the one tab that asks you to sign in first. The rest are open to anyone. A topic's Discussions tab is also read-only, and posts are written on the main Discussions feed instead: see Discussions takes posts, but only from the main feed.
The counts in the header tell you which tabs are worth opening
Above the tabs, the topic's header carries a row of counts: Competitions, Projects, Publications, Journals. A count only appears when it is above zero. So the header is the quickest read on the page. If Journals shows a number, the Journals tab has that much in it. If a count is missing from the row, that tab has nothing.
Why About is blank
About is written by the UNI team, one topic at a time, and there are thousands of topics. A blank About means nobody has written the introduction for that topic yet. It is not a sign that the topic is unused, was closed, was merged into another, or has no work behind it. The line under the topic's name works the same way: most topics carry no description either, so the space under the title is often empty as well.
Nothing you do fills About in. It is not drawn from the work filed under the topic, and it is not something a member can edit.
If a tab is empty too
Then that topic genuinely has no work of that type yet, and that is a different answer from a blank About.
Work reaches a topic two ways: through the disciplines set on it in the editor, and through its tags, where a tag is one that the topic collects. Every tab reads both. What there is no control for is submitting a piece of work to a topic directly. If your own project or journal is missing from a topic you expected it on, the disciplines and the tags on it are the things to check.
