Stage furnishes a room. Give it a photograph or a render of an empty interior and it returns the same room fitted out: furniture, textiles, lighting, the things that make a space look lived in. Render transforms a drawing or a model into a photographic image. Stage assumes you already have the space and want it dressed.
Underneath they are the same engine with the same models and the same prices. What differs is what the page asks the model to do, and two settings that Stage does not offer.

Two things Stage does not give you
- No Interior or Exterior choice. Render asks which you are producing. Stage does not, because staging is an interior operation by definition.
- No aspect ratio. Render lets you force 16:9, 1:1 and the rest. Stage always uses Auto, which means it keeps the proportions of the photograph you uploaded.
That second one is the most common surprise. If you put the same photograph through both pages and the framing comes back different, this is why: Render obeyed whatever aspect ratio was set in its dropdown, and Stage kept the original. Neither is wrong. If you want a specific shape from a staged image, run it through Stage and crop afterwards.
Everything else is shared. Stage takes a description, so you can ask for a particular register, and it accepts one style reference image once the main image is in place.
Getting a better staged result
- Upload the emptiest version of the room you have. Existing furniture constrains what can be placed and often survives into the result.
- Say the register, not the objects. "A calm Scandinavian living room, pale oak, linen, morning light" works better than a list of items.
- Use Pro for anything client facing. Light is quick and fine for testing an idea; furniture is where the difference between the two models shows most.
What it does not do
Stage is not a floor plan tool and it does not measure anything. What comes back is an image, not a specification, and the furniture in it does not exist to scale or to buy. Treat it as a mood image for a space you are proposing.
