Nothing went wrong with your account. The free daily render allowance exists only inside chat with the UNIfy agent. The standalone Render, Stage, Upscale and Edit pages charge credits on every generation, starting with the first one, and they never look at your free allowance. Same models, same output, two different prices.
The free allowance is five images a day, in chat only
Ask the UNIfy agent to render, generate or change an image and your first five images each day cost nothing. That covers the best model at every resolution, SD, HD and 4K, so there is no cheaper setting you have to choose to stay inside it.
The count resets at midnight UTC. It is a calendar day, not a rolling 24 hours, so a render at 23:50 UTC and another at 00:10 UTC land on different days and draw on different allowances.
Each image counts as one. If you ask for a set of four concept sheets in a single message, that is four of your five, not one.
The tool pages charge from the first image
| What you generate | Page | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Light model, any resolution | Render, Stage | 1 |
| Pro model at SD or HD | Render, Stage | 3 |
| Pro model at 4K | Render, Stage | 5 |
| Upscale 2x | Upscale | 1 |
| Upscale 3x | Upscale | 2 |
| Upscale 4x | Upscale | 3 |
| Standard quality | Edit | 2 |
| Match Input quality | Edit | 4 |
The cost of the run you are about to start is printed beside the Generate button on each of those pages, next to your balance. What no screen tells you is that the same work done in chat would have been free while your allowance lasted.
A failed image now gives your credits back, almost always
As of 2026-08-17, if a generation on the Render, Stage, Upscale or Edit page fails after it was queued, the credits are refunded automatically, the same as video already did. The one gap left is a failure in uploading your image before the job is even created: that still takes the credits with no job row to refund against. If that happens, contact support with roughly when it happened and ask for the credits back.
In chat the free allowance behaves differently: a failed render releases its free slot, so a failure does not eat one of your five. If your five are already gone and the failed render was paid for in credits, those credits are refunded the same as on the tool pages.
Where credits come from
Every account gets 3 credits once, not three a day. Beyond that:
- A paid membership adds credits each cycle: Weekly 7, Monthly 25, Semester 150, Annual 250, Studio 750, Institutional 2500.
- You can buy a credit pack from the Render page, starting at $5 for 50 credits. Buying a pack needs an active membership.
- Credits from a pack do not expire. Membership credits run with the membership.
What to do about it
Use chat for anything the agent can do: an initial render from your photo, a text description turned into an image, a concept sheet, or a change to an image it made earlier. That is where the free five live.
Use the tool pages when you need something chat does not offer, such as a masked edit of one region, an upscale, or fine control over staging settings. Check the credit figure beside Generate before you run, and keep in mind that the number of images you ask for multiplies it.
