All does not include archived entries. It is the sum of the other four tabs only, so as soon as you detach work or archive anything, All stops matching the number of registrations you remember making. The archived ones are not lost. They are counted on their own tab.
What each tab holds
Your competitions page at uni.xyz/profile/edit/{your-username}/competitions sorts every entry you have into one of five buckets, by what is attached to it.
- Registered. An entry with nothing attached yet. You paid or registered, and the work has not been connected. These are the ones with a Submit button.
- With Projects. Entries carrying a project.
- With Journals. Entries carrying a journal.
- With Publications. Entries carrying a publication.
- Archived. Entries you withdrew, plus any that were archived for you.
All is tabs 1 to 4 added together. Archived sits outside it.
A tab you cannot see is a tab with nothing in it
Every tab, All included, is drawn only when its own count is above zero. So the strip of tabs across your page is not a fixed set: it grows and shrinks with what you have.
Two things follow from that, and both get read as a fault when they are not.
- No Archived tab means you have archived nothing. It is not hidden, and there is no setting that turns it on.
- A tab that was there last week can vanish. Attach your last unattached work and the Registered tab goes with it, because its count fell to zero.
If the page shows no tabs at all, you have no entries, and the empty state on the page says so.
Reading the numbers on the tabs
The figure in each tab label is the real count for that bucket, fetched from the server rather than counted from what is on screen. Nothing is truncated at the first page, so a long list is a full list.
Checking the totals is worth doing after any change. Detaching a piece of work from an entry does not archive the entry: it turns the entry back into a Registered one, so your Registered count goes up by one and With Projects goes down by one, while All stays exactly the same. An entry that leaves All entirely has been archived, which is a different action.
If an entry is genuinely missing
Open the Archived tab first, since that is where the count went. If it is not there either, the registration may not have completed. How to confirm your competition entry registered covers how to check that.
