Yes. Pick the person up by the handle on their card and drop them onto another team card. The move is saved immediately and confirmed with Member moved successfully.
Two things have to be true for the drag to work at all:
- You need team management rights. That means being the project owner, or holding Super Admin or Admin on any team in the project. Without them the cards do not lift, so if nothing picks up, this is why.
- The destination has to be a different team. Dropping someone back into the card they came from does nothing.
Dragging does not reorder anybody
The handle's tooltip says "drag to reorder", and that is misleading. Dragging only moves people between teams; it does not change the order they appear in. Credits are listed by when each person was added to the project, and nothing on this page changes that. Crediting collaborators and the order they appear in explains what does.
The move keeps everything about the person
Only the team changes. The collaborator keeps:
- their position on the project, so an Admin stays an Admin,
- every role tag on them, such as Architect or Project Lead,
- their place in the credits.
What changes is which group they are credited under, which is the point of moving somebody into an organization's team rather than leaving them under Collaborators.
Moving is not removing
A move never takes anyone off the project. Nothing stops you moving the only Super Admin out of a team, because they are still on the project afterwards and still hold their position.
Removal is where the guard sits. Try to remove the last Super Admin from a team and you get Cannot remove the last super admin from a team, which is there so a project cannot be left with nobody able to manage it. Removing someone from a project team covers that.
If the card snaps back
The person moves on your screen before the server has answered. If the card jumps back to where it started and an error appears, the move did not happen. The usual cause is that your rights on the project changed while the page was open: reload and check your position on the team.
Moving someone into an organization
An organization team only exists once an organization is attached to the project. If there is no organization card to drop onto, add one first: see Adding an organization to a project.
