Streets for People Challenge

'A fantastic opportunity for architects and urbanists to collaborate with Indian cities to transform its streets for people!

The Streets for People Challenge is all set to reimagine streets in India! An initiative of the Smart Cities Mission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, and ITDP India Programme inspire cities to create walking-friendly streets through quick measures, in response to COVID-19.

At the core of the Challenge, lies the community. To design streets FOR the citizens WITH the citizens, the cities are now rolling out city-led competitions to crowdsource quick, low-cost, and innovative solutions ideas for their pilot interventions. All winning entries would be tested on-ground.
