UNIADA '24, presented by UNI, continues its tradition of celebrating the depth and brilliance of architectural research. Recognizing that the most iconic buildings are underpinned by thorough and innovative research, UNIADA '24 aims to spotlight groundbreaking ideas in architecture, whether realized or conceptual. This award is about more than just design; it's about the ideas and dialogues that shape the future of architecture.

 

Objective

UNIADA '24 seeks to honor and generate awareness around exemplary architectural dissertations that demonstrate a profound understanding of design, context, and innovation. We aim to showcase works that have the potential to influence the field of architecture and urban design, driving forward the conversation on how we conceive, understand, and interact with our built environments.

 

Eligibility

Participants: Open to bachelor’s and master’s students of Design, Architecture, Landscape, Planning, and Urban Design from any institution and nationality.

Dissertation Age: Any dissertation or research work published or completed between May 2022 and May 2024 is eligible.

 

Submission Guidelines

Focus: Submissions should be predominantly research-oriented, exploring new dimensions in architecture and urban design. Examples include studies on urban spaces, sustainability, technological integration in architecture, or cultural impacts on design.

Exclusions: Purely design-based projects (e.g., design of a specific structure), graduation projects, or research extracted from an architectural project without substantial independent outcomes are not eligible. If you want to submit your architectural thesis check out UnIATA 24

Format: To submit your entry you will have to publish it in the form of a PDF using Publication uploader on UNI. Learn more about using the Publication feature

 

Evaluation Criteria

Innovation: How does the dissertation contribute new ideas or perspectives to the field of architecture?

Research Depth: Quality of research and depth of exploration into the chosen topic.

Potential Impact: The potential influence of the research on future architectural practices or theory.

Clarity and Presentation: Effectiveness in communicating complex ideas clearly and engagingly.

Q: Who can participate in UNIADA '24?
A: The competition is open to both bachelor’s and master’s students from any institution worldwide, studying in fields related to Design, Architecture, Landscape, Planning, and Urban Design. Dissertation published only after May 2022 wil be considered.

Q: Can dissertations be submitted in languages other than English?
A: No. Only submissions in English languages are accepted.
