Fornole Pizza: Reinventing Space with Innovative Pizza Restaurant Design
Fornole Pizza transforms a mechanical workshop into a vibrant pizza restaurant in Buenos Aires, showcasing innovative design and an open kitchen concept.
In the bustling heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the former shell of a mechanical workshop breathes new life as Fornole Pizza, a testament to innovative pizza restaurant design. Spearheaded by Florencia Rissotti Arq, this project is a vibrant fusion of culinary art and architectural ingenuity, spanning an area of 1076 ft² and marking its completion in 2023.

The Architectural Concept: A Seamless Blend of Function and Style
Crafting the Culinary Stage
Fornole Pizza's interior is a grand open kitchen dedicated to the art of pizza and bread-making. A distinctive ribbon wall contours the space, serving dual purposes: it scales down the vastness of the original concrete enclosure and discreetly integrates essential service areas, including the kitchen, a refrigerated chamber, a flour warehouse, and restrooms.

Kitchen as a Showcase
Strategically arranged kitchen devices transform the space into a series of islands, where each element, adorned in silver and stainless steel, contributes to the spectacle of food preparation. This design choice ensures that the culinary process remains in full view, inviting guests to engage with the artistry of pizza making.

Interior Design: A Collage of Colors and Textures
A Catalog of Objects and Colors
The furniture selection within Fornole Pizza is envisioned as a collection of colorful objects, each bearing its unique hue. A vibrant palette of red, pink, green, brown, yellow, black, and wood stands in bold contrast against the restaurant's original checkered flooring, adding layers of warmth and whimsy to the dining experience.

Embracing the Outdoors
The restaurant's storefront, constructed from metal carpentry, is designed to open completely, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. A concrete bench adorned with Rosa de Salto granite extends the material narrative of the facade, nodding to the classic Buenos Aires architectural heritage.

A New Benchmark for Restaurant Design
Fornole Pizza by Florencia Rissotti Arq redefines the innovative pizza restaurant design landscape in Buenos Aires. By converting a once utilitarian space into a vibrant culinary destination, the project stands as a beacon of creativity and inspiration. It encapsulates a unique blend of architectural innovation, culinary transparency, and a welcoming atmosphere, setting a new standard for restaurant design.
