The design is not conceived as a conventional enclosed building. Instead, it unfolds as a meandering pavilion that moves through the existing greenery, carefully marking places for new planting while respecting the silence and ecological value of the site. Its spatial character is open, lightweight and modular, allowing the chapel to function as a place of prayer, awareness, gathering and environmental education.
At its core, the proposal asks a direct architectural question: how can a sacred space promote ecological responsibility without separating itself from nature? Eco Chapel answers this through a structure that blends with the forest, supports reuse and invites visitors to experience the landscape as both a spiritual and educational environment.


Architecture in Symbiosis with Nature
The main idea of the project is to create a piece of architecture in symbiosis with its surroundings. Rather than placing a chapel inside the forest as an object, the design allows the forest to shape the pavilion. The building follows an organic path, responding to vegetation, movement and existing site conditions.
This approach gives the project a strong biophilic character. Visitors are not removed from nature when they enter the chapel. They remain connected to trees, planting, filtered light and open air. The forest becomes part of the interior experience, giving the space the atmosphere of a living museum.
The design underlines the problem of deforestation by making greenery central to the architectural language. The pavilion does not simply display environmental concern as a theme. It physically performs it through planting zones, green roof elements, natural ventilation and a structure that adapts to the land.

The Learn zone introduces the educational function of the pavilion. It includes an internal garden and exhibition areas where visitors can understand environmental issues, deforestation and the importance of greenery.
The Feel zone supports reflection and prayer. It is quieter, more contemplative and connected to the chapel’s religious purpose. This part of the project allows visitors to pause, observe and emotionally connect with the surrounding forest.
The Enjoy zone introduces social and community activity. It includes areas such as the café, meeting space and gathering zone. These programs help the chapel function beyond worship, making it a civic and cultural space for everyday use.

Exhibition Hall, Café and Gathering Space
The rendered interiors show how the pavilion can host multiple functions while maintaining a consistent relationship with nature. The exhibition hall is open, warm and surrounded by planting. The café overlooks the forest, turning everyday social interaction into an experience of landscape. Instead of acting as a separate commercial space, it becomes part of the project’s community role. Visitors can sit, rest and observe the greenery around them.
The gathering space is designed with flexible seating, soft surfaces, vertical elements and open views. It encourages group meetings, social activities and informal conversation. These areas are carefully located so that they do not disturb the silence of the chapel.
Natural Air Conditioning and Climate Comfort
Climate comfort is a key part of the design. The project uses natural air conditioning principles through roof-integrated green elements and an open structural system. The green pots and planted roof modules help mediate heat, shade the interior and create a cooler microclimate beneath the canopy.
The roof is not only a shelter. It becomes an environmental device. Sunlight, vegetation and airflow work together to support comfort without relying heavily on mechanical systems. This strengthens the project’s identity as green architecture.

The site plan shows a strong planting strategy integrated into the architectural layout. The pavilion is surrounded by different plant species, including Rosa, Trifolium, Mimusops, Panicum, Kniphofia Foliosa, Capparis, Hypericum, Dracena, Erica Arborea and Acacia.
These planting references reinforce the idea that the chapel is part of a larger ecological system. The project marks places for new greenery, allowing the architecture to support regeneration rather than consume the site.
