Origami artist and landscape painter, David Brill, United Kingdom
About
David Brill (UK, b.1948) first began to fold paper as a child, attracted to origami as no equipment or special materials are needed to begin. While working away from home in the early 1970’s, he rediscovered origami, and soon after he joined the British Origami Society. He thus began his creative origami journey, finding friends almost everywhere. Even after decades of folding paper, he is still intrigued by the endless possibilities for the origami artist. He works in a wide range of origami subjects, including animals, geometrics, flexicubes, boxes and human figures. He was President of the British Origami Society from 2017 to 2020. He is the author of Brilliant Origami (Japan Publications 1996). He is also an active painter, working frequently on landscape and still life motifs.
