October 2026
Topics Directory Opens on Trending
The topics directory now opens on Trending topics with a page-by-page pager, and topic counts only include public competitions, so you find what is active faster.
Like and Comment on 3D Worlds
Worlds in the feed now show a hover preview and can be liked, commented on and saved, and world owners get notified when someone engages.
Smoother Competition Pages on Mobile
Competition pages, including the sidebar, jury and partner sections, no longer shift around while loading, especially on phones.
One Image Page in UNIfy
UNIfy now has a single Image page for rendering, editing with a mask, and upscaling, replacing the four separate image pages, with credit costs shown up front.
Published 3D Worlds Appear in the Feed
Worlds you publish now show up as cards in the feed, linking to their world page. A published world goes private if its project does, so private work stays private.
Build 3D Worlds from the UNIfy Chat
Ask UNIfy in chat to build, change and export a 3D world from a public project, then follow its progress on a live job card and manage it from the new Worlds page with revisions, files and publishing.
Bookmark Worlds
You can now bookmark Worlds and find them in the bookmarks tab of your profile, alongside your other saved content.
Live Progress Steps in UNIfy
UNIfy now shows a live step list and the model in use while your job runs, and recovers gracefully if your connection drops. Failed edits are refunded in full.
UNIfy Assets: Images and Videos Tabs with Thumbnails
Your UNIfy assets page now separates Images and Videos into tabs, with fast thumbnails for every render and video you generate, so finding past work is quicker.
Messages: Enter Adds a New Line, Ctrl/Cmd+Enter Sends
Writing longer messages is easier: Enter now starts a new line and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter sends. We also fixed a case where a message could be lost when the connection briefly dropped.
Quick "Join UNI" Button in the Navbar
If you are signed in without a membership, a Join UNI button now sits in the navbar so you can explore membership options from any page.
Discover UNI Membership with a Guided Tour
Signed-in members of the community now see a short, friendly tour of what UNI membership unlocks, with real examples from the platform and current prices. It appears sparingly and never interrupts a lesson video playing with sound.
Navigation Restored on Tablet-Sized Screens
Menu navigation was missing on screens between roughly 768px and 1024px wide, such as small tablets and narrow windows. It is back.
Uni Assistant Now Uses the Right AI Model for Your Plan
Annual, Studio and Day Pass members were being served the smallest AI model in Uni chat. Your plan now gets its full model allowance, so answers are stronger.
Export Your Competition Participants
Organizers can now download the participant list as a CSV straight from competition studio settings, making it easy to manage and follow up with entrants.
Help Answers Link to Full Articles
When the help assistant answers a question, it now ends with a Further reading list linking the full help articles it used.
Search Page No Longer Jumps While Loading
The footer and profile cover images no longer shift around as pages load, so search results and profiles stay steady while you read.
Confirm Before Cancelling Account Deletion
If your account is queued for deletion, you are now asked to confirm before cancelling it, and the deletion email gives clearer instructions.
Support Replies Reach You by Email
When our support team replies to you in a conversation you cannot sign in to read, the reply is now emailed to you so you never miss an answer.
September 2026
Free Certificates for University Courses
Students in university partner courses now receive certificates for free when they submit their final model. The $250 add-on now covers up to 4 hours of extended support per batch, and standalone workshops are listed as individual services.
Videos in Journals Now Play in Chrome and Other Browsers
Videos embedded in journal articles failed to play in most browsers other than Safari. They now load and play correctly everywhere.
Registration Fees in the Competition's Own Currency
Competition registration fees now show in the currency the organiser set, so the price you see matches what you pay.
Enter Competitions by Enrolling in a Course
Some competitions are now linked to a course. Enrol in the course and you are entered, with no separate sign-up step.
Course Preview Videos
A course can now show a preview video on its page, so you can get a feel for the teaching before you enrol. Videos start when you press play.
Sidebar Header No Longer Covers Section Labels
The sidebar header no longer overlaps the first section label, so every menu section is fully readable.
Google Sign-In Fixed on Public Pages
Google Sign-In now works on server-rendered pages such as profiles and journals, where it was previously being blocked.
Cleaner Profile Popovers
User profile popovers sometimes showed raw HTML code like " " instead of a clean bio when someone had no tagline set. Popovers now display readable text.
Smoother Topic Search and Navigation
Topic cards in search results now open the correct topic page, and the topic search dropdown is no longer cut off by the hero card. Icons in the sidebar rail and menus are also consistent across apps.
One Consistent Icon for Every App
Each uni app now uses the same icon in the sidebar, mobile bottom-nav drawers and menus, making navigation easier to recognise.
AI Writer Keeps Your Project Byline Intact
When the AI writer rewrites a project, it no longer replaces the author byline with its own.
Journal Editor Blank Canvas Fixed
Fixed an issue where the journal editor could open as an empty blank canvas, so your journal loads reliably for editing.
Upload MOV and WebM Videos
Videos in .mov and .webm formats now upload successfully in the journal editor, in addition to .mp4, instead of being rejected.
Start a Project, Journal or Publication from the Post Button
The Post button now offers Project, Journal and Publication alongside regular posts, so you can start any kind of content from one place.
Fixed Missing Add Organization Option in Journal Settings
Authors without an organization now see the "+ Add your organization" option when editing a journal's meta details, instead of no option at all.
Feed Cards and Navigation Layout Refinements
Feed cards now open the right app when you tap on media and show a call-to-action on every slide, and the navbar and sidebar layouts were refined for tablet and mobile.
Fixed Broken Links in Emails and Notifications
Links in digest emails, push notifications, and organization notifications sometimes pointed to the wrong place; they now always resolve to the correct page.
Fixed Leaving an Organization From the Invites Page
Leaving an organization from the invites page no longer fails with an error, and the back arrow there now correctly returns you to Organizations.
Organizations Sidebar: My Affiliations and My Memberships
The sidebar link is now called "My Affiliations", and your memberships live in their own "You" section, with a direct link from any organization's public page if you are a member.
Turn a Press Kit Into a Journal Draft
Upload a press kit and uni.xyz now builds a journal draft from it automatically, including inline video, GIFs and animated images, with no file-size limit warning and the imported press release shown as a clean collapsible section.
Fixed FAQ Pages Showing Raw Formatting Tags
Some FAQ answers (juror, membership, and partner pages) were displaying literal formatting tags like "<strong>" instead of bold text. Answers now render properly formatted.
Journal Articles No Longer Jump While Loading
A loading counter above journal articles was pushing the whole article down once it appeared, causing the page to jump while readers were scrolling. The space is now reserved in advance so the layout stays put.
Expert-Rank Members Can Now Rate Projects
Rating projects used to require a paid plan, even for members who earned Expert rank through their activity on uni. Expert-rank members can now rate projects on any plan.
Journal Comment Button Now Works on First Tap
Tapping the Comment action on a journal article did nothing the first time because comments hadn't loaded yet. The first tap now correctly scrolls to and loads the comments section.
Book a Call After Applying
University and institutional applicants now see a direct link to book a 30-minute call with our team right on their application receipt and thank-you page, so the next step is clear instead of waiting on an email.
Student University Applications Now Include Professor Contact
Students applying through the university partnership form are asked whether they are faculty or a student; students now provide their professor's name and email, and that professor is copied on the application so they can confirm it.
Fixed Comments Showing Broken "&" Characters
Comments containing an "&" symbol sometimes displayed as garbled text like "&"; comments now render correctly.
Paste Screenshots Directly When Uploading
The upload dialog now accepts screenshots pasted straight from your clipboard, so you no longer need to save a screenshot as a file first before uploading it.
Clearer Report Dialog for Flagging Content
Reporting a project, comment, or profile now shows a simpler dialog with a free-text field and clear regulatory categories, and prevents reports from silently being miscategorized.
Faster Page Loads on Project, Journal, and Competition Pages
We've rolled out self-hosted fonts, smarter image loading, and deferred loading of below-the-fold content, meaningfully cutting load times across the site.
Journal Follow Fixed
Following a journal for the first time now works reliably instead of occasionally failing.
