International Architecture and Design Awards
Overview
Design awards to showcase the best in architecture and design
The annual A-Z awards by UNI is a global architectural platform that recognizes design excellence. The laureates of these awards will get recognition, credibility and benefits through UNI’s extensive reward kit and international coverage.
The award programme aims to cover all basic frameworks in architecture and to generate a dialogue in existing and upcoming trends within them. UNI Design Awards seek to celebrate innovation in some of the most primary architectural typologies. The programme will highlight hidden gems from the past four years.

Our communities have evolved from rich architectural contexts signifying distinctive characteristics of each decade and unique cultures. Globalisation has brought these different architectural understandings within global reach in past decades. While monuments and iconic structures are an important part of the restoration, our current urban development is moving forward with new upgrades every year and stands evidence to the unique fabrics showcasing contemporary changes from the last 100 years.
With extraordinary projects received on the 1st edition, we can’t wait to see what lies in store for the next. With the benchmarks set by the previous year, we expect projects to have the potential to evoke questions, ideas and debates about the present and future of the architectural community.
A for Adaptive Reuse
By retrofitting, maintaining, renovating and reknitting the past spaces of our personal, cultural, urban and historic fabric, we seek to highlight adaptive reuse projects that have gone through refurbishment, renovation, conservation or restoration in basic disciplines of architecture.
Focusing on the most basic of frameworks (typologies) of built spaces, UNI introduces Architecture (A- Z) Awards.
‘A for Adaptive reuse’ aims to bring together global design talents that explore one of our most primary needs as a population.
Inviting entries of spaces that are converted, renovated, restored or retrofit, this theme aims to recognize residential, retail, hospitality and industrial spaces which have evolved with the utmost understanding of its user groups, their function, adaptability, environmental responsibility and its urban context.
Categories
Participants can submit projects in more than one sub-category but the entry has to be submitted separately.

UNI Design Awards seeks to find and showcase the best research, built and unbuilt projects in architecture, design and related fields. The awards strive to encompass all architecture and design disciplines under a carefully curated umbrella for students, young architects/designers and professionals.
