Q. Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you concerning the architectural competition "To Bee" I have enrolled in lately. Could you please send me any additional information and resources regarding the site and programme of the competition?
Is a .dwg file of the site available? Is there any additional graphic information available?
What is the topography of the site?
Are there any water resources and electricity available on site?
What is the approximate area of each functional zone included in the programme?
I would be grateful to you if you could consider my request!
For the competition 'To Bee',
The additional resources kit will be made available on September 28, 2021. It will contain a CAD file (.dwg) with topography, relevant site details and images.
The participants can logically assume availability of electricity, water or any other technical aspect, relevant to the site (as this is an ideas based competition).
The site details and area programme have been updated in the brief. Please note the changes done and let us know if there are any more queries.
Good luck!
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to ask a few questions about the assignment:
1. Is the entrance to the property obligatory to be where it is marked on the situation?
2. Is it allowed to have underground structures and if so, up to how many meters underground construction is allowed?
3. Approximately how many workers will there be?
4. Is the level set to the situation as level 0.00 an average level for the terrain?
5. Since the terrain is steep, where is the 12m maximum building height considered from? - from the lowest point of the site, from the highest point of the site, from the average level of the site.
6. Is it permissible to place art installations, banners, billboards, etc. above the maximum 12 m of the construction?
7. Since the property is located in Biltmore Estate where there are several parking lots, is it mandatory to provide parking in our property?
Thank you in advance for the answers!
Yours sincerely,
Mihail Tilev
Hello,
1. The entrance to the property must be provided from the location marked in the CAD plan.
2. Underground spaces for public use are not alowed in this challenge. But you are free to place services, parking and other systems underground with no depth restriction but adequate justification.
3. The minimum number of workers can be around 500.
4. The 0.0 level is the base level of the terrain that is part of the site.
5. The building height of 12 metres is to be considered from every point on site where you choose to propose the building. The total height of building on the highest contour and the total building height from the lowest contour, both should be 12 meters respectively. (The goal is to limit the structure to a total 12 metres in height, irrespectve of site levels.)
6. You are allowed to place art installations, banners, billboards, etc. above the maximum 12 meters of the construction.
7. It is not mandatory to provide parking on the site but documentation for the available parking facility in the area is necessary.
Hope this resolves your concerns. Good Luck!
