The awards honor exemplary architectural dissertations that exhibit a deep understanding of design, context, and innovation. By showcasing impactful work, UnIADA '25 seeks to influence architecture and urban design, sparking discussions on how we create and engage with built environments.

Prize Values

Participation Category: Open to bachelor’s and master’s students in Design, Architecture, Landscape, Planning, and Urban Design from any institution worldwide.

Publication Date: Eligible entries include research completed or published between May 2023 and June 2025.

Submission Guidelines

Focus: Submissions should emphasize research and exploration, offering fresh perspectives in architecture and urban design. Examples include studies on urban dynamics, sustainability, technological advancements, or cultural influences in design.

Exclusions: Projects focused solely on design, such as specific structures, graduation projects, or research dependent on existing architectural designs without independent findings, are ineligible. For architectural thesis submissions, refer to UnIATA 25.

Format: Submissions must be published as PDFs using the Publication uploader on UNI. Detailed instructions are available on the platform using the Publication Feature.

Evaluation Criteria

Innovation: Does the dissertation introduce new ideas or perspectives to the field?

Research Depth: How comprehensive and detailed is the exploration of the topic?

Potential Impact: What is the potential influence on future architectural theory or practices?

Clarity and Presentation: How effectively are complex ideas conveyed?

Q: Who can participate in UnIADA?
A: The competition is open to bachelor’s and master’s students worldwide studying Design, Architecture, Landscape, Planning, or Urban Design. Only dissertations published after May 2023 are eligible.

Q: Can submissions be in languages other than English?
A: No, only English submissions are accepted.
