A Meeting of Cultures

The Story Behind PARDIS

PARDIS is the brainchild of Vy, a Hanoian, and Ales Sandro, an Italian entrepreneur, who sought to create a space that resonates with their shared experiences and memories of Vietnam and Italy. The restaurant is designed to be a living, breathing embodiment of both Hanoi's architectural charm and Mui Ne's coastal serenity, infused with the rich flavors of Italian cuisine.

Architectural Narrative

The design of PARDIS Restaurant and Cafe is deeply rooted in the architects' desire to blend memories of Hanoi with the essence of Mui Ne. The structure captures the architectural rhythm of old Hanoi buildings and the natural beauty of Mui Ne, utilizing materials like raw bricks, used wood, and steel iron to narrate a story of cultural confluence.

Design and Materiality

Creating a Familiar Rhythm

The architects skillfully wrapped the brick walls and old building consoles into the support systems, creating a design that feels both traditional and innovative. Inspired by sea coconut leaves and the textures of Hanoi's streets, the building stands as a testament to the seamless flow of culture between the urban and coastal landscapes of Vietnam.

Sustainable and Welcoming Spaces

PARDIS boasts a lawned terrace that doubles as an elevated garden, offering a lush, green retreat from the tropical heat. The roof, coated with coconut leaves, not only provides shade but also enhances the building's integration with its natural surroundings, making it a perfect spot for guests to enjoy the breeze.
