Luxury Penthouse Renovation: Ático Curvo by Destudio
Ático Curvo by Destudio is a luxury penthouse renovation in Valencia, blending panoramic views, open-plan living, and sculptural architecture.
A Visionary Transformation in Valencia
The Ático Curvo, designed by Destudio, is a remarkable luxury penthouse renovation that redefines contemporary living in the heart of Valencia, Spain. Overlooking the historic Turia riverbed, the project takes full advantage of its panoramic views, seamlessly integrating the interior with the surrounding cityscape. The renovation enhances natural light, open spaces, and material warmth, creating a refined yet inviting atmosphere.

Architectural Concept: Curvature and Spatial Fluidity
Emphasizing Views and Open-Plan Living
One of the defining characteristics of Ático Curvo is its circular envelope, which extends the visual connection between the interiors and the expansive urban landscape. To maximize this 360-degree perspective, the design prioritizes spatial openness, strategically placing primary living areas—such as the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom—along the façade.

A significant modification was the removal of an overbuilt mezzanine, which previously compressed the main living area. By eliminating this element, the renovation introduces double-height ceilings, amplifying the sense of space and emphasizing the sweeping curvature of the penthouse.

Extending the Living Space Outdoors
The terrace plays a crucial role in extending the indoor experience to the outdoor environment, offering a harmonious transition between interior and exterior spaces. Designed as an extension of the main living areas, it features:
- An outdoor living and dining area, mirroring the indoor communal spaces
- A solarium, reflecting the comfort of the master bedroom
- An open-air bath, enhancing relaxation with stunning views
- An exterior kitchen, seamlessly connected to the interior kitchen via a concealed window
This seamless indoor-outdoor integration transforms the Ático Curvo into an immersive experience, where every space is connected to the natural surroundings.

Design Elements: A Fusion of Minimalism and Elegance
The Sculptural Spiral Staircase
One of the most striking features of Ático Curvo is the custom-designed spiral staircase that links the main floor with the upper level. This architectural centerpiece is crafted from large curved black iron panels, contrasting with natural wood steps. The staircase is more than just a functional element—it serves as a sculptural focal point, greeting visitors with its bold presence and artistic form.

Materiality and Atmosphere
The material selection for Ático Curvo aligns with the overarching concept of harmonizing architecture with nature. The sloping ceiling is clad in natural wood, evoking a sense of warmth and organic continuity. The walls are finished in soft-toned mortar, providing a neutral backdrop that allows the panoramic views of Valencia to take center stage.

This careful balance of materials ensures that the luxurious aesthetic remains understated, fostering a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere.

Luxury Living in the Heart of Valencia
The Intersection of Architecture and Lifestyle
The Ático Curvo renovation embodies the essence of luxury living, where design, functionality, and urban connectivity converge. By embracing open spaces, sculptural elements, and a seamless indoor-outdoor relationship, the project redefines the modern penthouse experience.

With its unparalleled views, refined materiality, and architectural ingenuity, Ático Curvo by Destudio stands as a benchmark for luxury penthouse renovation, offering an aspirational model for urban living at its finest.
