THE POPPY FIELDS
At the root of the project lies the fate of abandoned animals — tens of thousands of them live in Polish shelters, and far more wander with no help at all. In the public mind, a shelter remains a sad, closed-off place that deters rather than invites. "The Poppy Fields" proposes a different path: instead of an institution — a village among meadows, where treatment, rehabilitation and education intertwine. The responsibility for their wellbeing rests with us — and architecture can genuinely help.
