About
Annabelle Iszatt is a Lecturer in Theories and Practices of Architectural and Urban Design at ENSA Montpellier. She participated in founding the Master of Study "Living" which focuses on relationships between urban form and quality of inhabited spaces. At the same time, she is conducting research in the Laboratory Innovation Form Architecture in two distinct but complementary fields: inhabited space and funerary space. In 2018, she published Birth of the Modern Necropolis: Reading of an urban space at the beginning of the 19th century in Paris, as a follow-up to her thesis directed by Jacques Lucan at EPFL. In 2015, she created the ZATTnSAT agency with Pierre Faissat in Montpellier, after 10 years of experience. Their work is as much on the small as on the large scale, ranging from furniture design, Hi-Fi design to collective housing or funeral space projects. In their approach the image is only the result of simple but essential qualities, expression of the meaning that each project finds. Patient and demanding research which gives a sacred dimension to everyday life.
