About

Ayça Taylan Yerce, received her education in architecture at Istanbul Technical University and Politecnico di Milano. She has worked as a project architect and project designer in different award-winning architectural offices in Italy, China and Turkey for ten years. She founded Yerce Architecture Studio with her partner Nail Egemen Yerce, in 2011, where they focuse on multidisciplinary art, design and architectural projects. In 2013, Yerce Architecture's ‘Orfisera’ project was exhibited in East Centric Architecture Triennale in Bucharest, Romania. In 2015 ‘Masura’ project received the ‘Best Exhibition Space’ award in Istanbul Furniture Fair. ‘Studio Loft’, completed in 2016, was elected to the Turkish Architecture Yearbook and became the single Turkish finalist at the 2017 World Architecture Festival, in the ‘Creative Re-Use Category’. In 2018, ‘Empera Headquarters’ was awarded in the ‘Best Office Buildings’ category, in Big See Festival, one of the prominent architectural festivals in Southern Europe. In 2020, 'Courtyard Apartment', has been one of the nineteen projects chosen to be included the Turkish Architecture Yearbook. The office’s well-know ‘The Path’ installation, has been awarded in Dutch Frame Awards 2020 and German Design Award 2021. Besides co-running Yerce Architecture, Ayça Taylan is an invited lecturer and a guest jury member in the architectural studios on different classes, in Mef University, Kadir Has University and Istanbul Technical University.
