About

Biayna Bogosian, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Socially Engaged Design at Arizona State University, with joint appointments in the Design School and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society. Her research, housed at the ASU Media and Immersive Experience (MIX) Center, focuses on context-aware participatory architectures, utilizing immersive media and AI to enhance civic engagement and environmental education through environmental data, design, and robotics. Grants from the NSF, NASA, and EPA fund her research. Previously, Biayna held an Assistant Professorship at Florida International University (FIU) from Fall 2019 to Fall 2023, where she served as the Associate Director of the Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab, a position she still holds. As an affiliate faculty member at FIU, she collaborates on integrating AI with XR technologies to improve curriculum development and teaching methods in architectural robotics. Biayna holds a Ph.D. in Media Arts from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and an M.S. from Columbia University's GSAPP, specializing in Immersive Media and Architectural Technology. Her interdisciplinary background allows her to explore innovative approaches to improve the built environment through data-driven and citizen-centric methods.
