About
Carlos Banon is a Spanish Architect and Professor based in Singapore. He is Director of AIRLAB Singapore, Co-Founder of Subarquitectura Architects Spain, and Assistant Professor of Architecture and Sustainable Design at SUTD since 2014. He holds a M.Arch from the University of Alicante with extraordinary distinction. His research lab projects span from Parametric Design and 3D Printing technologies applied to actual building components and Geometric Exploration for Sustainable Space Making (GESSM). His production has been recently nominated to the President Design Award 2020, and selected for the Venice Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2020. He has been awarded with the German Design Award 2020, four SG Mark in 2019 and 2020, two Singapore Design Awards 2019, Finalist in Rethingking The Future Award 2019, awarded with the Design of the Year Prize by the London Design Museum, received a gold Medal given by the International Paralympic Committee, two Spanish Biennial Prizes and a Mies Van der Rohe Prize Nomination.
