About
Darius Reznek studied architecture and urbanism in Romania and earned his Master’s in Landscape Architecture at Wageningen University & Research. He started his career at Karres en Brands in 2012 and has since advanced at lightning speed to the level of designer and project leader, working on complex spatial assignments, mostly abroad. He led Karres en Brands’s competition team for several years working on numerous competitions, including the Paper Island urban design in Copenhagen and the winning station area designs in Roskilde or Helsinge Garden City in Denmark and the Randwick Academic Health Science Centre Masterplan in Sydney. Darius honed his skills through his collaboration with many agencies in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Norway. His strength lies in his open- mindedness and inquisitive attitude. When approaching a complex spatial assignment, he considers both the qualities of the location and the overarching concept. Like in his work on the prize-winning design for the Triangle de Gonesse in Paris and on the winning competition proposal for Hamburg’s newest district - Oberbillwerder. The masterplan is Germany’s largest and most ambitious development with just under 130ha set to be developed into a cutting edge city of the future. He is one of the lead-architects for the further implementation. Currently Darius is a studio tutor within the Future of Death studio led by Bart Brands at the Stuart Weitzman School of Architecture, University of Pennsylvania.
