Diederik Fokkema

Diederik Fokkema studied at the University of Technology in Delft. After gaining experience in Amsterdam, he left for New York to work with Richard Meijer & Partners. As an associate partner he was responsible on site for the construction of City Hall The Hague, learning about the complexity of housing a large organisation. Once the project was finished in 1995 he established his own firm, Fokkema & Partners Architecten. At the time internet started to change the landscape of doing business dramatically and a revolution in business models was on its way. The implications on office planning and interiors was a key fascination for Fokkema & Partners, then and today. In the aftermath of the pandemic we are at another pivotal moment in time regarding the way we interact. Diederik Fokkema has been involved in the development of many innovative concepts, complete interiors, new buildings and renovation projects for public and private clients. To complement his architecture up to materialisation and detail, Diederik also established a design label: FOKLAb.
