Eduardo Aizenman

Born in Mexico City, studied Architecture, Art and Art History at Rice University in Houston Texas and established a profesional practice upon his return to Mexico after a few years spent at Bofill´s Taller de Arquitectura in Barcelona. In 1993 he designed, and with a an a group of friends founded, El Pendulo bookstore/coffeeshop (www.pendulo.com) which has grown to seven locations around the city, the latest of these, in San Angel, has received multiple international recognition and awards for its design and special contribution to the social fabric of the neighborhood where it stands. El Pendulo Polanco has been listed among the most beautiful bookstores in the world by many international publications. He has also been active in Urban Policy by being a founding member and director of the first two Business Improvement Districts in the country, in the popular Condesa and Polanco areas. To this day, he continues on a path in the arts that he started in early childhood.
