Erick Kristanto

Erick Kristanto is an Indonesian born architect who lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago with a Master of Architecture degree and Parahyangan Catholic University Bandung, Indonesia for the Bachelor of Architecture Engineering degree. Prior to establishing Studio Kota Architecture, Erick worked as project leader for Rem Koolhaas’s OMA Hong Kong and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) New York where he tackled various projects with different scales and complexity. Erick’s practice focuses on specificity in architecture and the discovery of new building typologies. He believes in progressive architecture, which shapes the way people live and interact in the future. Before settling in Jakarta Erick has lived in the United States, China, and Hong Kong SAR. At times he serves as a critic and guest speaker for local universities.
