About
Irene Marzo (1976) is an architect graduated at ETSAV (2001) and Technician Diplomat in urban planning. Founder of TALLER 9s ARQUITECTES in 2003 with Oriol Cusidó. Working in the construction of públic buildings, with special interest in rehabilitation and heritage and combining professional activity with research and dissemination of heritage values and urban regeneration. Awards in several competitions for the construction of public buildings, such as the library of Roca Umbert in Granollers, the library of Singuerlin in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the Cultural Center of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the rehabilitation of a building in the Pi Square of Barcelona for municipal uses, the rehabilitation of tanneries for the European Headquarter Quality Leather Center in Igualada, research buildings in the universities of Tarragona and Barcelona and the Local Police Station of Mollet del Vallès. Some recognitions for this work: finalists and shortlisted at FAD awards, finalists in various editions of the Catalunya Construcció Awards, mentioned and shortlisted in the Mostra de Barcelona and shortlisted at the Spanish Biennial, at the Mostra de les Comarques Centrals, at the Domus International Prize of the University of Ferrara, the European Biennial of the Landscape, Arquia / Próxima, Biennial Alejandro de la Sota, and have had work exhibited in the Catalan Pavilion of the Biennial of Venice in 2012 and in 2018-19 in Brussels , Barcelona and Tarragona as part of the exhibition 'Re-activate the city'.
