Michael Spight

TAG Architects were established in 2001 as a design-focused practice specializing in high quality, innovative and environmentally and socially responsible projects. We create well designed, appropriately scaled architecture which responds to the client brief and contributes to the built environment and associated landscape. Founding Directors, Jurg Hunziker, and Michael Spight share a passion for delivering architectural solutions which “make a difference”. A significant number of projects undertaken have been public & community facilities requiring a substantial commitment to social issues beyond the scope normally expected of design consultants. Our work has won a number of design excellence awards through the Australian Institute of Architects, WA Chapter, including the state’s highest award, the prestigious George Temple Poole Award. The practice currently works in a wide range of building types, including projects in educational, justice, custodial, residential and heritage fields. Works undertaken by TAG Architects in the past ten years have been predominantly in the public realm; where projects have continued to increase in scale and complexity. TAG Architects also enjoy working collaboratively with other like-minded design practices, preferring to establish the strongest and most appropriate team for any given design program. This allows the practice to undertake larger, more complex projects from a modest base, and to further develop design skills and excellence.
