About

Tomaso Boano (MArch, ARB) studied Architecture and graduated with honours at the University of Genoa. During his career, he worked in various international practices and collaborated with Architect Sans Frontiere UK, developing charitable and sustainable projects for the Afro-Colombian coastal settlements currently threatened by the rising of the sea level. Tomaso Boano and Jonas Prismontas are the founders of the architectural firm Boano Prišmontas. The studio adopts a creative and hands-on approach as a strategic tool to propose design solutions to the contemporary world. Their body of work often deals with self-built pop-up architecture and art installations. Each project draws inspiration from, and combines, various aspects of art, architecture and technology. Mentionable projects: Minima Moralia, London Festival of Architecture; Quiubox, Milan Design Week; Aidah, Dubai Design Week and 165x165, Unfolding Pavilion during the Venice Biennale of Architecture. We recently won the Arch Challenge Competition and we are currently working with Meanwhile Space, Lambeth Council and the Mayor of London on a pilot project to regenerate abandoned spaces across the UK.
