About
Wolfgang Hardt completed an apprenticeship as a joiner and draftsman. Afterwards he studied Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg, Germany, where he was awarded his degree. Later he then completed a master's degree in “Architecture and Context”, graduating with a “Master of Arts”. From 2000 he initially worked as an intern and then as a Project Architect and Project Manager with Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, collaborating on different projects in Switzerland and abroad, including the new building an extension of the St. Jakob Park football stadium in Basel, the Prada Store Minami Aoyama in Tokyo, Japan, the Allianz football stadium in Munich, the Basel trade fair centre, and the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. In 2005 he was promoted to Associate, before becoming a Partner of Herzog & de Meuron in 2008. In 2011, Wolfgang Hardt joined Burckhardt+Partner AG as an Associate Partner, where among other tasks, he has been responsible for the Project Management of the “Mall of Switzerland” in central Switzerland. Since 2012 he manages as a Partner and a Member of the company management a Department in Basel. Additionally, he is active as a member of architectural juries, and as a member of the board of the SIA, the Association of Swiss Engineers and Architects, Basel division. Wolfgang Hardt has been responsible for the international business development of Burckhardt+Partner AG since the beginning of 2018.
