Women are among the most disadvantaged groups worldwide. This situation is even more severe and destructive for those who have experienced incarceration. This center, designed in Oklahoma City, aims to prevent formerly incarcerated women from returning to the cycle of crime and to offer them a "zero point" in their lives — a chance to start over. Approximately half of the project site is covered with water. Water is the source of life — just like women. This parallel forms one of the main conceptual foundations of the center. Water not only shapes the land but also serves as a metaphor to guide women who arrive here in finding their own path. Through water, both physical and emotional renewal is proposed. The workshops in the center are built around the themes of healing and repair. Sewing and carpentry workshops aim to empower women through making. The carpentry area also includes introductory lessons in building knowledge, offering women new skills. These trainings are vital for both confidence and future employment. The accommodation units are single-story and arranged along the edge of the site. Elevated above the ground and situated over water, these spaces offer both privacy and tranquility, supporting the rehabilitation process. The calming presence of water is felt throughout the center, nurturing peace, healing, and a sense of new beginnings. This center is not merely a physical structure; it is a space for social repair — a landscape of healing that witnesses the rebirth of women, empowers them, and reconnects them with society.
