36People's Choice AwardBEYOND EPILOGUEOften treated as the abode of the dead, the crematoriums lurk behind the gloom, cold and numbness of death itself. While they signify the end to some, they ignite the hope of healing and new beginnings for many others. It helps us to look beyond the darkness and tread towards the ray of hope. "Beyond Epilogue" marks the initiations of these new beginnings.
1Life pathLife and death are closely connected. The life path is an endless process from birth to the moment of physical death. Our project calls to think about how transient our earthly path is and how great this path is in afterlife.
1Loop of living, circle of dead Our design of memorial process: Living people pass a long, constantly dimming corridor to keep them out of the noisy urban environment and enter the funeral hall in a calm state. Perform mass mourning in the funeral hall and use machines to make a boat with the ashes of dead. Walking to the upper floor, put the boat into the river channel and watch it slowly
3The Light of Rebirth -- Urban Cemetery Design Death is both the end and the beginning. It's both the passing and the birth. Death is valuable, and can still play a role in the world in another way . In nature, death makes life. Through the natural death and utilization of the individual, nature is constantly realizing new life, continuing in another way of life, so as to maintain vitality forever.
2"BOX" VARIES In our design, the ashes will be used to nourish the potted plant that symbolizes the dead, so that each dead person will realize its second life. We hope that the deceased will make his own decision based on his own culture, beliefs and preferences. We have adopted a module with a variable structure and stacked these modules vertically.
5Honorable MentionBack To EarthThe idea of this project is to combine the burial process with the human body compost technology and create a landmark tower to present this process.
2Life CircleThe cemetery space coexisting with nature is created after studying the death culture and exploring the boundary between space and nature. Space intervention is used to improve people’s fear of death and exclusion of death topics, and the ways to have emotional sustenance and recall are also deeply studied.
8Reunion in the skyDeath to all of us means another world, which would be connected just when people come to commemorate them. People hope to find a connection with them. The design uses two highly memorable ferries wheel, which coincide at one point. Infrastructure is behind the wheels, which is faced by old residential building. The body depository is under the ground.
12Honorable MentionParting in matter,Reunion in spiritPeople bid farewell to the ashes in a clear spring, let the current lead people to experience parting, merge into a waterfall into the garden, and the memories of loved ones are presented through projection. The material follows the clear spring to return the soil, while the spirit remains here forever to comfort those who come.

1〇The notion of design is based on the concept of cycle. Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of another. Life and death form a closed loop rather than a single threaded line. And the loop, is the focus of our design.
