As the world faces a slow but sure rise of sea levels due to climate change, glaciers are melting and the world will begin to flood with more intensity. As Norway loses its glaciers this structure will stand as the last glacier to survive the floods of climate change.
4Polar station.POLAR STATION SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF RESEARCH IN ANTARCTIC BY THE ABILITY OF INFINITY TRAVEL AND USAGE OF SUSTAINABLE RESOURCES.STATION CONSISTS OF EXTERNAL ENVELOPE - GEODESIC SPHERE AND MACHINERY WHICH RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WORK OF THE WHOLE CONSTRUCTION AND INNER STATION VOLUME.THE INNER STATION STAY FIXED WHILE THE EXTERNAL SPHERE IS MOVING.
9Cyberg Ice ArenaWe decided to mix two main programs, combining the increasing popularity of eSports with the urgent need to address global warming. By proposing a self-sustaining, ice-producing arena, we've fulfilled the demand for innovative, flexible, and unique eSports arenas and offered a creative solution to the deteriorating state of the Arctic Ocean.
1ARC ARCTICThe settlement will consist of a combination of sections in an arbitrary order. Sections completely protect the internal space from the external aggressive environment and provides all the necessary conditions for life. The sections themselves can exist separately and be self-sufficient due to the extraction of energy from the sun, wind and geothermal source
7Arctic SecondsThe world is changing in alarming rate,so we must change well-known standards of architecture. Arctic in addition to climat changes and warming happening twice as fast as the global average definitely expect new understanding of building-how can architecture provide more than a temperature controlled environment that allows surviving in such extreme condit
0WinnerOver the Edge. Arctic habitatThe main task of the architect when designing in extreme conditions is to achieve the most competent adaptation of the object to the environment. In this project of the Arctic settlement "over the edge", an experimental decision was made to place the object on a slope, which as a result allowed to create a lot of interesting solutions.
21Port DiksonThe northlands hold great potential, but because of the severe climate, sea infrastructure and cities are not developed. The revival of the Northern Sea Route, which is the shortest trade path between Europe and Asia, can become a starting point. Port Dikson will be the central base with ship repair, Arctic research centre and polar station support.
