About Discussions Projects9 Journals4 Publications1

Desert design explores how architects and designers create built environments within arid landscapes. Projects range from permanent structures adapted to extreme heat and sparse resources to speculative interventions that reimagine human habitation in these regions.

The community examines diverse approaches: resort developments carved into mountain terrain, nomadic dwelling concepts, sustainable settlements, and experimental structures like magnetically levitated domes. Work spans real-world desert modernism and conceptual explorations of Saharan and Middle Eastern contexts.
