The concept of the project was to design a building that would make full use of local culture and local ecological raw materials. The main idea was to create a visually and materially fascinating building that would fit into the surrounding landscape, stand out, but would not overshadow it.

Shade for Culture is a concept of cultural centre fourty kilometers away from city of Marrakech. The idea of the design was to connect a typical dwelling in the desert - tent, the self-shading effect of a cactus and windcatcher towers. The design is made of ecological and sustainable materials and uses one of the oldest construction methods - rammed earth.

The cultural center, designed as a meeting point for the world and Marrakech, shows an example of a settlement specific to its location by playing with the slopes of the land. The center offers users the opportunity to experience the oasis in different ways.
