0Hydro Shell Nexus The Hydro Shell Nexus is a biomimetic floating research laboratory designed to study coral reefs in Punta Nizuc, Cancun, Mexico, with minimal environmental impact. Inspired by clams, lobsters, and coral, its biomimicry sustainable design features underwater viewing pods, a clam-shaped front for coral growth, and lobster-inspired fins housing an air system.
1WinnerAdaptive CellThe leading inspiration in the design process, were issues related to the field of biomimicry. Both the form, function and mechanisms allowing for mobility and adaptation found their inspiration in this field, allowing us to design a futuristic and ecological capsule.
5The OctopusThe Octopus is a pure outcome of inspiration from biomimicry and innovative spatial design. In the process of abstraction of nature-inspired-form and sustainable spatial outcome, The Octopus is designed specifically for the location of Taiwan’s “National Museum of Marine Biology”, drawing attention towards the intelligence of this misunderstood creature.
0FOG COLLECTORS AGAINST DESERTIFICATIONFog Collectors are used today in many places around Mediterranean sea ( Morocco, Spain, Croatia) and the world to obtain fresh water from fog particles in the air. This project uses this technology combining it to bioreceptive concrete to fight desertification in Sicily, a phenomenon that is now reaching alarming proportions.
105People's Choice AwardArmadicarTo overcome the unpredictable disasters occurring on this planet, Armadicar – a mobile habitat inspired by Armadillo – provides an adaptive dwelling in a minimum space. With costumizable interior elements, openings and boundaries, Armadicar accommodates four-member family activities during days and nights, on land and water surface in sustainable way.

50EMERGEIn modern cities there is a lack of importance towards the individuals, their mental health, and their well-beings. EMERGE aims to reverse this reality. The project intends to make nature emerge from the concrete. It proposes an architecture that houses chaos, nature and life.
60People's Choice AwardPangolin can help mining (Leap)The aim of the project is to design a space habitat for asteroid mining, while we need also a spacecraft as well. This brings us an idea of pulling and extracting mineral materials
23Editor's ChoiceRiverine Eco RetreatThis tropical retreat is an exploration of possibilities where people live in harmony with nature. By learning from the nature in place and the indigenous wisdom, our design emerges from and honors native context, becoming part of it, like trees in a forest, leaving a more regenerative footprint.
21Biomimetics: An environmental sensitive approachThe approach aims to challenge the common belief that due to their height contemporary tall buildings cannot be ventilated and lightened naturally and also provide break from typical hermetic glass boxes.
