Colombian Architecture
Architecture and design work from Colombia, with a focus on buildings and projects in Bogotá and their tropical and urban context.
Colombian architecture draws on a varied landscape of climates, altitudes and urban conditions, from the high plateau of Bogotá to the tropical lowlands. Designers working here often respond to heavy rainfall, strong sun and dense city fabric while engaging with a rich tradition of brick, concrete and public institutional buildings.
Members of the community share projects that range from residential and tropical houses to civic libraries, auditoriums and urban interventions. Discussion also returns to canonical works, such as the Luis Ángel Arango Library, as reference points for how Colombian architects have shaped the city.
