THE BRIDGE WITHIN THE BRIDGE

This project intends to give a different experience for the different users, yet bring them together. There are two different ways to cross the bridge. For the people that want to cross the water can cut through fast, the people that wanna discover the city and cycling will enjoy the public spaces.

Intertwine

This design is trying to strengthen the relationship between people, bicycles and the context. The cycling and pedestrian flow lines are intertwined. This dynamic connection will make people, bicycles and contexts have different positional relationships, thereby achieving a rich three-dimensional circulation system and spatial experience.

"G" PEDESTRIAN & BICYCLE BRIDGE

The Bridge is divided into three separate paths: on the upper-level A and B paths for bicycles which are accessible by means of ramps - and a pedestrian path (path C) on a lower level accessible by elevator. This allows pedestrians - who simply want to cross the bridge quickly - do so on the lower level, and allow cyclists to enjoy the upper levels

Society as a renewable energy

The goal of the project was to create a bridge which would be able not only to connect two banks of a canal, but also unite people and allow them to act for the common good. The project involves creation of a bridge able to produce electricity when being used. By crossing the bridge, pedestrians and cyclists use their weight to press elements of the deck.

MOBILITY ³

Our bridge has two levels…the upper level serving the bicycles or pedestrians and the lower level where the harbor boats circulate. So the project is a station where you can drink coffee, see an exhibition while waiting for your boat or waiting to have your bike repaired. A place where one can have information about the city before taking a tour.
